What is Jojoba? (pronounced ho ho ba)
Jojoba comes from the seeds of jojoba bushes grown in arid climates throughout the world and was used by early Native Americans for skin and hair care.
What is an ester?
Jojoba is a liquid wax ester (not an oil). Jojoba is very close in composition to the restorative esters our skin produces through the sebaceous glands. Jojoba contains all three forms of vitamin E. Since it is not an oil (which contains fats) it does not go rancid like many oils do. Because it is an ester jojoba goes a long way compared to an oil.
What is O3?
O3 indicates three atoms of oxygen, sometimes referred to as energized oxygen. Ozone is created in nature by thunderstorms and is the protective layer surrounding the higher zones around the earth. The first ozone generator allowing for this recombining of the oxygen molecule was invented in 1896 by Tesla.
What does it do?
Just as there is a cleansing and freshness in the air after a thunderstorm, O3 has a cleansing and fresh feel to the skin.
The secondary effect of ozone/oxygen is to help regulate the immune system. (See Barber, proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA 100, no. 6, March 18, 2003, pp.3031-34)
How does the ozone-oxygen get into the ester or oil?
One to two gallons of ester or oil is held in a glass container.
Ozone-oxygen is bubbled through a tube into the container anywhere from three to ten days, depending on the level of oxygen concentration going into the container, the amount of oxygenation desired and the type of ester or oil used.
How long does the oxygen stay in the ester or oil?
We recommend using the products within six months. However, the oxygen seems to stay indefinitely. We have personally had products that retained oxygen (by our ability to smell it in the product) for over a year.
Why have oxygen in my skincare product?
Every cell in the body needs oxygen to function normally. If this is something that makes sense to you, we have skincare products that make oxygen biologically available. The benefits of adequate oxygen saturation at a cellular level can then be realized. (See our Customer Comments or General Oxygen page for more information.)
Does O3 Skincare™ have anti-aging properties?
Unlike other skin care products, O3 Skincare™ is actually infused with the number one ingredient for optimal cellular functioning and that is oxygen. Increased oxygen flowing throughout the system, helps to stimulate all the systems of the body including production of anti-oxidant enzymes at the cellular level.
